Humans have extracted enough natural resources from the planet to make everything we need. Our goal is to convert existing textile waste into new, endlessly usable materials.
Our Process
Ravel has developed a proprietary light touch, energy efficient, closed loop process to transform blended material textile waste back into mono-material feedstocks, separating and isolating any % amount of contaminants or dyes.
We are not an energy intensive depolymerization technology, a bioenzymatic approach, or a mechanical downcycling process. Rather, we use our in house IP to maintain the integrity of the underlying base fibers and purify them from the ‘gunk’. We use safe materials, and do not create any additional waste or byproducts through our process.
Our Product
Ravel currently makes drop-in ready textile derived rPET pellets to be transformed back into fiber, yarn, fabric, and eventually clothing. We are unlocking the circular economy for apparel, in particular with blended fiber textiles.
Through partnerships with brands, manufacturers, and supply chains, we will divert textile waste from landfill, and enable high quality new clothing made from old clothing waste.
We aim to decouple fashion from fossil fuels, and offer a realistic and low carbon solution to the ‘bottle crisis’
We think we’ve got something special, but it’s going to take all of us to make this work for everyone
